Group General Manager
Heidi joined Grit as Chief Operating Officer in May 2016. She has 19 years’ commercial and real estate experience and is an admitted attorney holding BComm and LLB degrees in addition to specialised real estate sector qualifications. Heidi has recently taken on an expanded role as Group General Manager. Before joining Grit, Heidi was a Group Director and Managing Director of the Broll Property Group’s Investor Services Division. In this capacity, Heidi was responsible for the Asset Management, Property Management and Retail Leasing businesses at Broll.
Her expertise include asset management, investment management, portfolio management, portfolio and management structures and performance management, lease management models, value optimisation of property assets, property acquisitions and disposals, real estate development projects (Greenfield opportunities), redevelopment/refurbishment projects (Brownfield opportunities) and portfolio analysis and due diligence. Prior to joining Broll, Heidi successfully managed her own property investment consulting business for over two years and held previous positions in the industry as a director for Atterbury Asset Managers as well as General Manager for RMB Properties (Pty) Ltd (now known as Eris Property Group).
Chief Investment & Corporate Advisory Officer

Belinda holds a Certificate in Business Accounting (CIMA), BSc (Hons) (Finance), MBA (University of Mauritius), Financing the Entrepreneurial Business Programme (London Business School, UK) and Strategy Execution for Business Leaders (Insead, France). Prior joining Grit, Belinda started her career at Rogers Group in 2006, one of Mauritius’ most prominent conglomerate as an investment trainee.
She has spent 13 years working for the Company, whereby her career took her through the various facets of real estate, project management and corporate advisory, all contributing to her most recent position there as Head of Projects and Corporate Advisory. Belinda also held the position of Executive Director of Ascencia Ltd, Mauritius’ largest domestic property company, where she was responsible for Fund Management, Strategic Management and Investor Relations.
Eric joined Grit as Finance Director of Delta International Mauritius Limited on 1 September 2018. Eric joins from Gazprom Marketing & Trading (GM&T) London, where he was the Global Head of Business Planning and Reporting and acted as Head of the Global Controlling function from November 2016.
His role included managing and directing a 14 member financial reporting team controlling the statutory reporting across three continents. Eric is a Chartered Accountant having qualified with PwC in South Africa before taking up senior roles with Doosan Power Systems and then Gazprom.
Moira Van Der Westhuizen
Chief Integration Officer

Moira joined MaraDelta in May 2016 as the Chief Integration Officer. She holds a B Com (Honours) degree from the University of South Africa and is a qualified Chartered Accountant.
She has over 20 years of experience in finance, business and auditing, which included running her own business and then in 2005 going into partnership as the Audit Partner in an Audit and Accounting practice. In 2008 she moved to Mauritius and worked for Investec Bank and later the CCI Group as the Group Financial Controller.
MCMI, Elec Eng
Greg Pearson is a founder member of Grit and has been instrumental in sustaining its rapid growth since inception in 2014.
Prior to Grit, Greg was responsible for expanding AECOM’s African footprint. His hands-on experience has allowed him to develop an expansive strategic business network with local and global developers as well as influential industry players on the continent and beyond. He has successfully completed a series of developments across the office, retail, leisure, education and healthcare sectors.
Greg is registered with the Chartered Management Institute and a graduate of Kingston University, London.
Country Executive – East Africa
Karen has some 30 years plus in the commercial property arena. Karen started her career at Old Mutual properties, where she spent 11 years. In addition she spent some 10 years at Standard Bank where she was part of the property equity team acquiring and asset managing developments and investment properties for third party tenants in joint venture partnerships. She has spent time working with Listed Property Funds in South Africa and unlisted property funds.
Karen experience includes property management , asset management, investment broking, property acquisitions, valuation, property fund management, with exposure to all classes of commercial property including retail, industrial and offices. Karen’s involvement is now in East Africa where she will bring these property skills in the commercial property arena to acquire, develop and asset manage property for Grit Real Estate Income Group.
Senior Investment Manager
BCom (Acc) (Hons), CA (SA)
Bevan is a chartered accountant with an Honors Degree in Accounting from Unisa and is also a CFA charter holder. Bevan joined the Delta Group in 2015 as an Investment Manager and then moved into the role of Senior Investment Manager at Grit Real Estate Income Group. Prior to joining Grit Real Estate Income Group Bevan held the roll of Investment Principal at RH Managers, a boutique private equity firm, specializing in green field healthcare investments within South Africa.
In 2013 Bevan was instrumental in the successful listing of Accelerate Property Fund on the JSE, which consisted of 51 properties, valued at R5.9 billion. Post completion of his articles in 2009, Bevan joined EY’s corporate finance division TAS, where he gained invaluable experience in due diligence, valuations, lead advisory, business modelling and JSE related activities.
Group Compliance Manager
Anouchka holds a Bachelor of Law with Honours LLB (Hons) from the University of Mauritius and a Master of Law (LLM) in International Business Law from the Middlesex University (United Kingdom). She is also a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of UK (ACIS). She has recently completed her MBA (Finance and Investment) and is awaiting for final results.
Anouchka has a strong background in legal, compliance and regulatory fields, having worked within the financial services sector for 13 years now.
She has joined GRIT as Group Compliance Manager as from July 2018. Anouchka was previously employed by Rogers Capital Corporate Services Limited as Manager-Compliance and prior to that was employed by Barclays Bank Mauritius Limited as Regulatory Affairs Manager.
Jaco van Zyl
Deputy Chief Financial Officer
BCompt (Hons), BCom, CA(SA)
Jaco holds a BCom degree from the North West University, a BCompt (Honours) degree from the University of South Africa and he is a qualified Chartered Accountant. After completing his articles, he moved to Federal Airlines as Financial Manager and ultimately assumed responsibility of the full finance function of the South African and Mozambican operations.
In January 2012, he joined the exploration drilling division, Geosearch of the JSE-listed group, Sentula Mining, as the Financial Manager and developed into the CFO for the Geosearch group. Here his African experience expanded further into Mauritius, Botswana and Mozambique. Since joining Grit in February 2016, Jaco has assumed responsibility for the Group’s reporting and treasury function, effectively flowing funds within the Grit structure and maintaining debt facilities. During the year, Jaco moved into the role of Deputy Chief Financial Officer.
Finance Manager – Mauritius
Ashvin is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and also of the Mauritius Institute of Professional Accountants (MIPA). He has 15 years of audit and tax experience for Mauritian entities.
In April 2015 he joined Premier Betting Rwanda Ltd as Chief Finance Officer where he assumed responsibility of the finance and compliance function.
He joined Delta in December 2015 as Finance Manager for all Mauritian and Francophone entities.
Group Finance Manager – Morocco
MCom (Fin, Acc & Tax), BCom (Ecos & BAdmin)
Mohammed holds a BCom Degree in Economics and Business Administration from the Cadi Ayyad University in Marrakesh – Morocco, and an MCom in Finance, Accounting and Taxation from the National School of Commerce and Management of Settat – Morocco.
Prior to GRIT, he worked for the Moroccan branch of RSM International Ltd where he gained valuable experience in the finance industry, specializing in accounting and auditing. In March 2015, he joined Grit Real Estate Income Group as Senior Accountant, and was promoted to Finance Manager in January 2016
Finance Manager – Mauritius
Sana graduated from the University of Manchester, UK with a BA (Hons) in Economics and is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). She began her career in Audit at PwC and later joined the Corporate Office of Rogers & Co Ltd, a listed entity in Mauritius. Prior to joining Grit, she worked for a JSE and SEM Listed entity, Atlantic Lead Properties Limited where she consolidated her property experience. Through her previous roles, Sana gained valuable experience in different sectors including asset management, telecommunications and property amongst others.
Technical Accounting Manager
Lotus joins Grit from Deloitte in Sydney, Australia where he held the position of Technical Accounting Manager. During his time at Deloitte, Lotus gained specialist experience in key industries, including the financial services, energy and extractive sectors. He assisted on all accounting issues, preparation of financial statements, advising on corporate treasury related matters including hedge accounting, debt restructuring, finance arrangements and complex structured transactions and IPOs. Lotus led several engagements both in the private and public sector in Australia and internationally. He brings with him in-depth practical experience in IFRS implementation, including providing technical opinions, complex consolidations and researching new developments and updates within the reporting standards. Prior to joining Deloitte, Lotus was a Senior Manager (Level 1 Technical Accounting IFRS Advisory) at SizweNtsalubaGobodo (SNG), South Africa where some of his responsibilities included the provision of technical opinions to audit clients of the firm and other external clients, IFRS training and the review of financial statements to ensure compliance with the reporting standards.
Lotus is a qualified CA(SA), IRM (SA), IFRS advisor, holds Masters in International Accounting (UJ), Post Graduate Diploma in Applied Accounting Sciences (UNISA), BCom (Accounting) (Fort Hare).
Finance Manager – Mozambique
Edson joined Grit Real Estate Income Group in January 2016 and currently holds a position of Finance Manager for Mozambique entities, he holds a degree in Accounting and Finance and he is a member of Mozambique Accountants and Auditors Order (OCAM).
After completing the articles he moved to Deloitte&Touche Mozambique in December 2012 where he achieved the position of senior, he was also involved on Adjustment account of S&C Imobiliaria. He brings some experience in Finance Due Diligence, auditing and accounting
Senior Operations Asset Manager
Anfa place Development Asset Manager – Morocco
Trevor has over 35 years industry experience commencing his career in property in 1979 as property assistant with Rand Mines Properties. He established the building blocks to a long and successful career in the sector. After spending a few years with funds and other property companies , Trevor joined Liberty Life Properties as leasing manager responsible for Sandton City. He played an active role in the initial refurbishment in 1994 and most of the expansions thereafter.
Before joining Grit in 2013, Trevor was responsible for the Asset Management of the Fountainhead Property Trust Retail Portfolio. Trevor’s role as retail asset manager included 10 retail assets, total of approximately R4 billion in value; and was responsible for the successful expansions and refurbishments of these malls over a period of 11 years.
Group Asset Manager
Debby has almost 30 years’ experience in the Commercial Property Industry. After graduating from UCT she started her career at Fedsure which was subsequently acquired by Investec Property Group. This relationship spanned a period of some fifteen years. Initially starting out in marketing she progressed into Retail Centre Management and Portfolio Management for the Kwa Zulu Natal and Eastern Cape portfolios. For the last 11 years Debby headed up the Eris Property Group KZN office as Regional Manager for KZN and Eastern Cape. She was responsible for growing the groups business as well as managing existing assets for both third party and internal clients in commercial, retail and industrial portfolios.
During her career she has also focused on the management of rural property developments in the Eastern Cape and northern KZN. During this time she represented property owners on various Association Boards including the La Lucia Ridge Office Estate, Ridgeside Office Estate and Westway Office Park and was the founding Chairperson of the Board for the Umhlanga Village UIP. Prior to joining Grit Real Estate Income Group, Debby was General Manager for Broll in Property and Facilities Management in Mauritius.
Financial Asset Manager – Group Asset Management
OJ is the Operations Asset Manager at Grit Real Estate Income Group. OJ started his career in the financial services industry in 2004 as a principle business planning consultant and financial analyst for Africa International Network. This role came shortly after graduating from the University of Buea in Cameroon where he holds a BSC Honours degree in Banking and Finance.
OJ holds a broad number of qualifications in finance which include a Business Accounting certificate from the Charter Institute of Management Accountants in the United Kingdom, MPhil. International Banking and Finance from the International Relations Institute of Cameroon and is currently studying towards an MSC in Real Estate from the University of Pretoria.
General Manager – North & West Africa
Ivan Cornet was the managing partner of Latitude Five, a West African investment and advisory firm where he was in charge of real estate and infrastructure.
With twenty years of experience in Europe and Africa as a lawyer, an investor and a financier, Ivan has assisted international and local investors and operators active in West Africa, providing market intelligence and identifying off markets opportunities, as well as structuring commercial and financial transactions. Ivan Cornet holds a business law degree and a Master in European Business law (LL.M) from the University of Brussels as well as an INSEAD Master in Business Administration (MBA) and an Islamic Finance Qualification issued by CISI (London) and Ecole Supérieure des Affaires (Beirut).
Ivan is a Chartered Surveyor (MRICS) registered with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
Ivan was also the Executive Chairman of Eburny Property Solutions, a property management firm in Côte d’Ivoire and a director of Sanctuary Student Accommodation Development, a student accommodation development and management firm in Nigeria.
Group Corporate Relations Manager
Corinne holds a Master in Information/Communication from the University of Reunion Island and the University of Natal (South Africa). After completing her studies, Corinne went into Journalism where she spent 10 years working as a senior Journalist covering interviews, analysis and reports in the areas of Criminology, Natural catastrophe, Politics, Economy and Culture. Corinne also led the campaign for the launch of the Mauritian National Lottery, where she held the position of Public Affairs Senior Manager. In January 2012, Corinne established her own Public Relations Strategy & Events Management Consulting company providing marketing and advertising strategy together with creating external communications plans to various clients. She did the launching of La Croisette Shopping Mall in Mauritius. Corinne was also the Chapter Manager of Young President’s Organization (YPO) Mauritius during five years.
Business Development Manager
After completing his studies in 2014, Kai proceeded to work for EY (in Advisory) and Delta Property Fund (in Asset Management) before joining Grit (in Acquisitions). Kai initially worked with Grit’s Head of Acquisitions to close multiple asset & corporate banking deals across the African continent before shifting his focus to the company’s Business Development, Strategic & Investor Relations initiatives. Within his current role, Kai is responsible for identifying, monitoring, facilitating and leveraging various opportunities across new & existing markets, partnerships and disciplines to facilitate the company’s continued growth and development. Kai holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Property Studies from the University of Cape Town, in addition to a Postgraduate Diploma in Management: Business Administration from Wits Business School Johannesburg.
Investor Relations Specialist
Morne has more than 17 years’ experience in investor relations, crisis communications and corporate affairs, both on the consulting and corporate side with particular expertise in listed real estate, financial services and Africa ex South Africa.
He has in-depth knowledge and first-hand experience across the entire business communications spectrum including IPOs, dual listings, aggressive take-over bids and defenses, crisis communications and work for pan-African multinationals.
Over time he has built sound relationships not only with sector analysts and portfolio managers but also with international proxy advisors such as ISS and Glass Lewis as well as benchmarking and portfolio construct advisors MSCI and Riscura.
