In October 2016, Grit announced that it had entered into negotiations with New Mauritius Hotels Limited to acquire a 44.42% interest in Beachcomber Hospitality Investments Limited (BHIL), owning three hotel assets in Mauritius.
New Mauritius Hotel Limited (NMHL) holds the balance of the interest in BHIL and will lease and operate the assets under its Beachcomber Hotels and Resorts brand.
Beachcomber Resorts & Hotels is the pioneer and leader of the Mauritian tourism industry. Since the creation of Park Hotel in 1952, a collection of 11 resorts have emerged over the years, including the mythical Royal Palm Mauritius in 1985, considered by everyone as the reference in hospitality for luxury holidays in Mauritius.
New Mauritius Hotels Limited is listed on the Stock Exchange of Mauritius and is included in the SEM-10 Index, which comprises the ten largest and most liquid stocks listed on the exchange.
